Summer is ending, meaning SuhReal’s, Intro of the new tagline Wide Awake&Still Dreaming, fall/winter drops! At the same time bummed, summer is when the waves are usually firing and crackin. That said, this is Kenta, cooking up a meal with his creative grounds. Usually, for the most part, always hit the waves with him and always talk about some real shit(so whattup!).

Not to bore you with personal info, but glad the fam from the navy had a chance to visit! My family ALWAYS roll deep and most of us is close with each other, but he’s probably who im closest with (along with Dweeze) out of all. Since childhood going into adulthood, we blood in blood out ya’eaard! HA. Short stay but at least he got to visit, kill joints out there SEAMEN!!! and see you in Japan.

Past Week.

Took off the hard-case off my laptop and took a good hour trying to get it out without breaking anything. So I thought this was something worth blogging about and patting myself in the back for.

Cake Creations in San Mateo, Ca (google them!) celebrated their 15th Anniversary on the 15th of August! Congrats to Leslie and her family!

On Tuesday(18th) was my Papas born day! Happy Born Day pop dukes!

That same day, had a meeting to prep for SuhReal’s Fall/Winter2010 Wide Awake&Still Dreaming Line dropping late sempter or early October! The line is def something new, more details as it gets closer to releasing.

Car stalled out, the tow truck driver was a crazy dude with no teeth and got us pulled over.

Cukui Flagship

Grand Opening! Congrats to the Cukui folks, well deserved and much success! I think anyone can tell when a company is ran by artists. Besides the well executed imagery/illustrations in the designs, the type treatment is something extra to appreciate as well (both hand rendered and Cpu based). Def worth peeping Bay Area and outta towners, brought culture into japan town haah. A lot of people and brands was there showin’ love and respects, good vibes, good people, good life.

Also got the chance to step out with Mel and her crazy(but mad cool) homies to talk about what is to come. Speaking of what is to come: SuhReal Fall/Winter line up is in production and should be set to release end of Sept according to plan to warm, both male and females, up during the cold fall/winter days. What to expect? A bold/Straight forward introduction of our new tag line, Wide Awake&Still Dreaming!

Camp Flicks.

With a huge family and a portion of the huge family living near you, an annual camping is def something we all look forward to every year. This year was dope, just wasnt as dope as the previous years. Went to Russian Gulch, cloudy, gloomy, cold, and just wasnt the “camping” vibe we were used to (HOT and SUNNY!), but we made it work. After a little bit, switched my cam over to the black/white mode due to the lack of color the place had. Full of nature and sight seeings, but the fact that it was cloudy and gloomy in general killed the colors out of the landscapes beauty. Hard to work with cloudy and grey days. Also to the family from Texas, hope yall had fun and see ya’ll soon again!

Past Few Days

Before setting up camp for couple days…

Vinnee and Super Cease came through from VA/DC urea.

FINALLY found a personal barber thats just as good as the cuts out east. Goes to San Mateo Zoo  to get his cut every Friday. Rolled with him and met some cool peoples, also found out they were one of the collaborative projects with Cukui. Very cool peoples. Checkem out, San Mateo Zoo.

Last but not least, chopped it up with Mel of Humble Beginnings again about this CRAZY collab thats in the making as your reading this. Not getting into details just yet though…

Boonies

Heading off  to the boonies in a couple minutes to camp in the Russian River grounds. Just squeezing in this blog before heading out. Come back with some nature pictures so enjoy your weekend folks!

Subconscious Doodling.

A lot of times, during my time with the blkbook and myself, I draw random things based on what I see, what I like and/or dislike, what i need to try, experiment, etc… Looking back at some of my blkbooks. All the doodles and experiments reflects on the personal feelings and state of mind at that time. Maybe not to you, but to me, Def does. Like a recorder recording my state of mind (or diary) at the time. Basic concept, how I feel is what i’ll see and what i’ll filter into mind. If I feel bad and keep that bad feeling, i’ll see and filter more of what is bad in my perspective. Vice Versa, if I feel good, i’ll see and filter more of what is good in my perspective. So where ever im at in my head, is what im going to be seeing and filtering into mind. Meaning the things I filter is what is what influences what I draw.
