Came to mind, when I first heard The Hundreds came up with their Character collab themes with Disney. If you havent checked that out, check it out on Thehundreds.com.

How? Well Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids were the first cartoon characters used with a popular street wear brand that I heard of. I know everyone remembers FUBU clothing(For Us By Us). Of course Lot29 and IceBerg came out using the Looney Toon characters as well.

I wasn’t even Born when Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids were televised (1970-80?). I just remembered first coming into America(age 6) and fascinated with the characters. They were different from the characters I was familiar with like the Looney tunes, Mickey mouse, Donald etc… Late middle school-freshmen year, kinda started studying the characters and doing little research but never really got to see an episode.

The Fat Albert characters were the first illustrations I’ve seen that I can relate with as far as the people and friends I grew up meeting,seeing, and talking with. Gave me an open mind about creating characters based on people you know, met, or seen and add a personality that goes along with the image at the time. Of course now, im more into Abstract characters so its not as visible, but the characters I create is always based on someone Ive seen met or dealt with, sometime subconsciously . Comparing to this artist I do admire that reminds me of Fat Albert Characters are works From Justin Bua, Check him out(JustinBua.com)!!! His works are more realistic as far as adding that personality and vibe from someone he has probably met, seen, or dealt with. Like a Tweaked out version of the Fat Albert and The Cosby Characters.

Bill Cosby Is a Genius, I know he’s famous for the Cosby show/talk show, dances, and his sweaters, but Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids is in my opinion, the greatest works from him (Hands Down), Also to the person or group of people that illustrated the characters and the whole series period, props. 

So basically I wrote all this to tell ya’ll how the past always comes back in a different form/way. With or without knowing it, it has and came from The Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids, I wander where they came from though?….

Last Random Shira Shot for 08

Been sick all weekend, with nothing to do but laying down and forcing myself to drink maad water. Water is my solution to everything, try staying away from pills. Figured, perfect time to do my random Shira shot since dont have nothing else to politic about, I do, just no pictures to go with it…

Am I trippin or is the focus on the guy to the right? haaah.

Did I mention she’s one of those type that holds her own grounds, a strong woman? Modern Day Hercules. 

By the time next year hits you’ll know her like you know her with the little facts I add on about her, you know? True? word? figadeal? kna’mean? Coolies.
